Описание
King Olaf of Norway is one of the most revered Christian saints in Scandinavia, and in addition, he is the last common saint of the Western and Eastern Churches. He was the baptist and enlightener of his people and died in battle on July 29, 1030. Now this date is celebrated as St. Olaf's Day. According to the canon, on icons he is depicted wearing a crown, and in his right hand he holds a battle ax or an ax, which he was wounded in his last battle (sometimes instead of an ax, a spear is depicted in the saint's hand, less often a sword). On the one hand, this is a weapon of a northern warrior, on the other, a symbol of martyrdom. On our bag there is also an image of an ax, as well as inscriptions in runes, meaning in translation “The Saga of the Holy King Olav Haraldson” and “Saint Olav Haraldson, pray to God for us”. The patina effect - noble "aging" is used to give our products a vintage look and spirit of the times. During the reign of Olaf the Saint in 1023, Christianity became the official state religion of Norway. For nearly 500 years after that, both the Latin language and the runic alphabet lived side by side. Many Christians used the runic alphabet. Артикул
